The Younger Members of The Welding Institute are dedicated to developing our next generation of engineers. They do this by participating in outreach activities, (many of our Younger Members are STEM Ambassadors), and by promoting the benefits of professional development, through Professional Membership and Registration.
Our Younger Members' strive to look beyond welding and joining in their simplest forms, and in doing so promote a multitude of engineering technologies and principles surrounding these processes to pupils from primary schools right through to students in university programmes, such as:

The YM's are actively engaged with local schools and communities in their area. They attend a variety of events, large and small, held throughout the country. Please check out our events page to see if they will be attending an event near you?!
The YM section are also heavily involved in the STEM Team East Activities for Engagement with children and young people, in their role as STEM ambassadors.
