Educational Outreach
Our educational outreach is powered by a passionate network of volunteers - including our Younger Members’ Committee (YMC) members and STEM Ambassadors from TWI Ltd.
We partner with schools and colleges to bring real-world industry challenges into the classroom, inspire students with science and engineering curriculum topics and supporting post-16 choices at careers events attended by our apprentices and graduates.
It’s all about connecting learning with the exciting world of welding, engineering, and technology.
Connecting with Education Across the UK
TWI/ The Welding Institute is represented on the steering committee of the Cambridge Area 14–19 Partnership and maintains close ties with STEM Team East, ensuring our outreach aligns with regional education and skills priorities.
In the past year alone, we’ve welcomed numerous school, college, and university groups to TWI headquarters and regional offices, alongside on-site outreach visits delivered directly in schools - bringing the world of welding and engineering to life.
We offer structured learning programs for all stages - from primary school through to postgraduate study. Our initiatives include:
These opportunities are designed to spark curiosity, develop skills, and give learners a taste of exciting careers in welding, engineering, and allied technologies. |
