Registration shows that you meet UK‑SPEC standards of competence and professionalism. There are three levels of Engineering Council registration, each reflecting different types of professional contribution:

How to Apply for Professional MembershipFollow these steps to begin your membership or registration journey: 1. Choose Your Membership GradeReview our membership grades and select the one that best matches your qualifications and experience. If you’re unsure, you can submit your CV to our Membership Office for personalised guidance. 2. Decide Whether You Want Engineering Council RegistrationIf applicable, choose the level of registration you wish to pursue: 3. Read the Application Guidance Notes linkThe Application Guidance Notes explain the requirements, evidence needed and the assessment process. 4. Apply OnlineSubmit your application, supporting documents and fees through our online portal. You may also apply using digital MS Word forms or handwritten hardcopy forms - contact the Membership Office to request these. 5.
