Overview: This talk will  introduce the concept of transition joints and focus on the explosion weld and rollbond (metallurgy and performance of the interfaces) as well as looking at existing applications showing benefits in the management of weight, strength, conductivity or corrosion.

Speaker: David Gauthier, Business Development Manager - Transition Joints products, NobelClad Europe GmbH.  David is a Mechanical Engineer  (Universities of Lyon and Warwick) and started work with NobelClad in 1998. David has two decades of experience in welding dissimilar metals with explosion welding and rollbonding processes, strong R&D experience and market knowledge. In 2008, as an R&D engineer, he took part in the development of a hybrid bar designed for welding aluminium pannels to steel chassis. It is still produced today and equips more than 2000 cars.
