Members of the West and East Midlands Branch of The Welding Institute are invited to attend this technical talk. 

Overview: The presentation will offer an introduction to the basic principles of Additive Manufacturing with key focus on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. The major factors will be presented in wire making and their effect on the WAAM process. Application examples of the process will be presented with a discussion on the effect of mechanical properties offered by this process

Speaker: Stuart Thomas (Technical Services Manager, Voestalpine Bohler Welding) 

Speaker Biography: Worked in the welding industry employed by BOHLER WELDING for almost 25 years. Studied up to HND level in metallurgy. EWE achieved in 2007 via TWI Cambridge. Vast experience across a number of materials and processes. Supporting distributors, customers and key accounts with Key focus on Pipeline, Oil & Gas and Nickel alloys
