This is a Member only event, specifically for members of the South Western Branch of The Welding Institute. Other members are very welcome to attend.

Overview: In this talk we will give an overview into the specialist work done by the Heritage Skills Academy with employers, apprentices and industry to train the next generation of heritage engineers. This specialist and fascinating field of engineering offers a host of exciting opportunities within the heritage industry. 

Speaker: Owain Johns (Development Director) and Andy Kelly (Coachbuilding and Trim Director)

Speaker Biography:   Owain Johns after 23years in secondary education now is part of the leadership team developing and growing the Heritage Skills Academy, currently the only training establishment offering heritage training. 

Andy Kelly an experienced lecturer with over 30 years in vehicle body repair, and has been extensively involved with Classic Car restoration skills in a number of colleges. Andy has been actively engaged in doing demonstrations at a number of Classic Car Shows, both in London and the home counties.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attending this event supports your professional development.  You can claim 2 CPD points per hour for this event.  As a member of the Welding Institute you can record your CPD activity online from your membership portal.
