This is an Eastern Counties Branch event organised and hosted by the Branch Committee on behalf of Branch members. All members of the Branch are invited to attend our AGM. Other members and non-members are very welcome to register for the talk.
Overview: There are several solid-state welding processes currently available and in commercial use, processes where the materials are not actually melted but joined in the plasticised state. Examples are Friction Stir Welding, Linear Friction Welding and Rotational Friction Welding. David’s talk will be about the new innovation of Orbital Friction Welding of steel rails.

Speaker Biography: David Rowe is a Fellow of The Welding Institute and Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. David is also Branch Treasurer for Eastern Counties Branch and a Professional Volunteer with the Institute.
