Global Institute Webinar

This global webinar is part of The Welding Institutes Summer Series 2022. This event is free and open to all our members.

Overview: Numerical modelling methods can be used to support and reduce the cost of extensive experimental test plans. They are increasingly popular, particularly as the world moves towards a digital platform. This presentation introduces why we use numerical modelling, the insights it can provide and the kinds of applications it can be used for.

Speaker:  Madie Allen  Project Leader (Numerical Modelling and Optimisation, TWI Ltd)

Speaker Biography: Madie joined TWI full time in 2020 following a PhD with NSIRC and Brunel University. Her thesis topic focused on the prediction of microstructure in additively manufactured builds. She is a certified professional simulation engineer and has a range of modelling experience including thermal modelling, brazing simulations and data analysis

Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Attending this event supports your professional development.  You can claim 2 CPD points per hour for this event.  As a member of the Welding Institute you can record your CPD activity online from your membership portal.
