This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London  Branch for  members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.

Overview:- This meeting will draw on the extensive experience within IACS of the work of a Senior Pipeline Inspector. The presentation will cover:

➢ Routes to becoming a Pipeline Inspector.

➢ Approval/examination centres and schemes.

➢ Duties and responsibilities of a Senior Pipeline Inspector.

➢ The challenges of working as an SPI.

➢ Future careers in the pipeline industry.

➢ What is a typical pipeline inspection team.

➢ Introduction to NDT with a focus on phased array testing.

➢ Case study: problem solving as an SPI.


Speakers:- John Hewitt and Michael Michlovsky (IACS Ltd)

Speaker Biographies:- 

John Hewitt entered the pipeline inspection industry in 1977 and held the position of Senior Pipeline Inspector for 25 years; establishing IACS in 1998. He is currently responsible for quality assurance, business development and management of services to major clients in the gas, oil, petrochemical and water industries.

Michael Michlovsky has worked on projects worldwide for IACS since 2006 and became Technical Director of IACS in 2019.
