London Branch Visit

This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London  Branch for  members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are welcome to join us.

Cranfield University offer a taught MSc in welding technology which has been running for over 60 years. It has an impressive ongoing research programme with over 20 current PhD students. This visit provides an opportunity to see the welding laboratories and work in progress, and see presentations by PhD students on their work in a lecture competition. There will also be an opportunity to try virtual welding on a Lincoln Electric VRTEX 360 unit. Cranfield's pioneering work on metal additive manufacture has spawned the creation of WAAM3D in Milton Keynes and on 9 March (9am) there will be an opportunity to visit Milton Keynes to see either WAAM 3D or Fronius.
