LAST CHANCE:- Composite-to-metal joining for naval vessels

This free event is organised by our Eastern Counties Branch for our members. Other members and non-members are very welcome to join us.

Overview:- The members of Eastern Counties Branch are welcomed to attend the upcoming December technical talk on the innovative design of a composite-metal joint used for naval vessels. It will encompass aspects such as joint design, manufacturing methodology, experimental results, simulations, and an examination of both advantages and limitations, of the joint. The presentation will conclude by offering insights into ongoing research endeavors and potential advancements. The overarching aim is to foster collaboration and facilitate the exchange of knowledge among participants, thereby enhancing collective understanding in the field.

Speaker:-  Man Chi Cheung (PhD Student, Composite Engineer, TWI)

Speaker Biography:-  Man Chi holds an MSc in Oil and Gas Engineering from Brunel University London, where she conducted research that focused on the structural integrity of composite structures. Upon graduation, she has continued to expand her research as a Ph.D. at Brunel University London, where she is working on an exciting project involving the design of a novel composite to- metal joint.
