The presentation reviews a HSE RR1215 Research Report reviewing welding failures over 17 years and interlinking it to BS EN ISO 3834 welding quality standard to show where some of the failures could have been addressed.  The presentation goes on to look at each section of ISO 3834 and discusses what should be in place to ensure the standard is effective within an organisation.

Meet the speaker:

EUR ING Mike Baverstock MSc CEng FWeldI, is a Consultant Welding Engineer and Welding Engineering Consultancy Ltd. 

Mike has worked in the welding industry for over 40 years starting as a welder and now a Consultant Welding Engineer running his own Welding Engineering Consultancy business helping different companies in different industries improve their welding quality and any other welding engineering issues they might have.

He holds an MSc in Welding Engineering, he is a Chartered Engineer, a European Engineer, and is a Certified International Welding Engineer.  Mike is the secretary of the Southern Counties Branch and a Fellow of The Welding Institute.  He is also a member of the Welding Apprenticeship Trailblazer Committee.
