Stainless Steels - The Cost Effective Solution

What will the event cover?

Stainless Steels - The Cost Effective Solution.  Stainless steels are hygienic, strong, and can be aesthetically pleasing.  They impact on our lives every day in many different ways.

What our industry expert will be presenting on:

This session is designed to showcase them, their applications and the wide range of grades available.  The lecture will examine the sustainability of stainless steels, the importance of correct material selection and how to maximise their longevity in service by ensuring the mechanical and physical properties are right for the application and that best practice is employed in the fabrication and post-fabrication processes.  Correct material and process selectin will help ensure a cost-effective solution.

Meet the speaker:

Rob Cooper - Managing Director of The British Stainless Steel Association.

Rob Cooper has worked in the stainless steel industry for over 30 years in commercial and managerial roles and was appointed Managing Director of the BSSA in 2020.  Immediately prior to that Rob was Managing Director for Aperam Stainless Services and Solutions UK Ltd.  Whilst he is neither an academic or an engineer his experience and training within the industry has equipped him with a sound knowledge of stainless steels in many of their forms and their applications.  The BSSA aims to promote, educate, and encourage the correct use of these incredibly versatile materials and Rob's role within the BSSA enables him to share the experience and passion which he has for this amazing group of materials.
