Technical Group Webinar

A Structures and Infrastructure Technical Group Webinar

Standards covering the design, execution and materials for use in structural steelwork all now include high strength steels up to S960. It is expected that these higher steel grades will be specified in the future as the drive for carbon reduction intensifies. However, the execution standards and general experience in the structural steelwork industry may not yet meet the challenges that these higher strength steels will present.

This event will examine some of the challenges that should be considered and how they might be addressed.

It will be of particular interest to designers, fabricators, engineers, inspectors, managers.

Experts from industry and TWI will be presenting on a range of topics:
  • Simeon Tulip, Engineering Manager - Metallurgy, BAE Systems Submarines on Manufacture of High Strength Steels
  • Tom Cosgrove, Fabrication and Welding Consultant, Sandberg LLP on High Strength Steel Design Considerations
  • Jeff Garner, Welding Consultant, Manor Welding Technology Ltd. on Welding of High Strength Steels

FEES
  • Professional Members of The Welding Institute: £25 + VAT (£30)
  • Industrial Members of TWI: £25 + VAT (£30)
  • Non-members: £95 + VAT (£114)
  • Retired Members: £25 + VAT (£30)
  • Students: £25 + VAT (£30)
