Library and Information Services

Welding Institute Members are privileged in being able to access information services provided by TWI.

Membership of The Welding Institute provides access to: 

TWI's technical library, a world renowned library of books, reports, journals, standards, conference proceedings, and publications. Members can benefit from a Document Delivery Service for the supply of loans and photocopies of published material.

TWI's e-library, a digital collection of titles complementing the print library. Members are able to download abstracts, annotate them and build up a personal 'bookcase' of TWI e-books.        

TWI’s quarterly online newsletter Connect+ which highlights research developments, international project work, new services and technologies, events, articles and reports. 

Bi-monthly copies of Welding and Cutting, the international journal for welding and engineering. Members will receive this publication which includes comprehensive reports from industry, science and the practice of the welding technology sector. The journal is accessible via a free, dedicated app for iOS, Android and Amazon (E-Books). To find out how to download and use the app, click here. Please be advised that the first edition of 2019 is scheduled to be released in February and current members will be able to use the app then. 

Free access to Science and Parliament, an online journal delving into the scientific parliamentary debates online.  

TWI's Weldasearch - a comprehensive database of over 200,000 abstracts on welding, joining and allied technologies. You can use Weldasearch to set up monthly alerts on subjects of interest to you.

MI-21 consumables - a database of over 37,000 records enabling you to trace consumables by current and past products, relate them to standards, source alternative and suppliers.

A technical enquiry service providing rapid response advice to your enquiry in welding, engineering, manufacturing and associated technologies. 

The International Institute of Welding (IIW) - an international scientific and engineering body for welding and related technologies. Members are able to become IIW Members and gain access to the myriad of resources available therein.
