The Welding Institute

Technical Groups

Our Technical Groups organise webinars, meetings and visits which are developed around the interests of Members of the Institute and employees of Member companies. Participation is also open to non-members.

Speakers include specialists with diverse experience and backgrounds covering the fields of welding practice, welding technology, metals and non-metals, other joining technologies, surface treatments, inspection, non-destructive test, integrity assessment and integrity management across all industries from micro-electronics to heavy industry.

The Chairs of each Technical Group are volunteers with extensive experience and knowledge of topics relevant to their Group and organise a varied programme of themed meetings of topical interest.

Technical Groups are also open to non-members, although a non-member fee will be levied. The non-member fee includes a one-year Associate Membership (AWeldI) of The Welding Institute. Find out more about AWeldI benefits.
