This is a London Branch event organised and run by our London Branch for members of the London and Kent Branches. Other members and non-members are very welcome to join us.
Overview:- The talk is about developments by Laser Additive Solutions (LAS) of processes and the manufacturing of parts from one-off prototypes to production volumes of thousands per week. Real-world additive manufacturing and welding/joining projects will be presented, ranging from precision engineered parts on the UK’s nuclear-powered submarines to more basic 14m long stainless steel drive belts for aluminium continuous casting factories.
Speaker:- Peter Brown, Managing Director of Laser Additive Solutions
Speaker Biography:- Peter established LAS back in 2015 following 11 years of experience developing laser-based joining and additive manufacturing processes whilst working at TWI (Yorkshire) and Rolls-Royce (Aero Repair and Overhaul). Laser Additive Solutions of Doncaster has been serving UK industry for 8 years, working on both commercial and UK-government funded projects. The staff have many decades of laser processing experience between them.
