What is Associate Membership?
Associate membership is our lowest level of membership and represents an important first step towards professional recognition.
Who is Associate Membership for?
Associate membership is our lowest level of membership and is therefore open to anyone interested or engaged in engineering.
There are two types of associate membership:
- Standard associate membership – this level of membership can be gained through simply having an interest in engineering.
- Student associate membership – this level of membership is offered to students in full time education and is offered at a discounted price of £50.00. The price is a one-off fee that covers the course duration of up to 5 years.
Graduate Applicants and Professional (Engineering Council) Registration
Graduate applicants looking to gain professional registration with the Engineering Council will initially be given membership at associate level. This will be combined with interim registration with the Engineering Council at a chartered engineer or incorporated engineer level (depending on your experience and qualifications).
